Onze vrienden van Acierto Artistas hebben hard gewerkt om in de stad voor het eerst een festival te houden dat zijn plaats inneemt in het internationale circuit van festivals, straattheater en circus.
Altea is een culturele en artistieke stad (hier is ook de faculteit voor de schone kunsten aan de universiteit Miguel Hernandez gevestigd).
Een stad vol leven en charme die als gastheer fungeert gedurende drie dagen van september(11,12 en 13) voor mensen uit alle delen van Spanje.

Met een verscheidenheid aan programma’s en activiteiten en allemaal gratis, laten we jullie een onvergetelijk weekend beleven. We wonen een circus show bij, we zullen getuige zijn van divers straattheater, de vertellers plezieren ons met hun verhalen,…… maar ook kunnen we deelnemen aan vele workshops en activiteiten.
En muziek, veel muziek overal, om de dagen en de nachten van de bezoekers en de bewoners van de stad op te vrolijken. Dus het wordt een feest van vreugde en kleur, een aantrekkelijk plan om in prettig gezelschap de zomer mee af te sluiten.

Blauwe vlag voor veilig en schoon baden

De blauwe vlag een wereldwijde waarborg voor schoon en veilig baden.  De organisatie FEE deelt sinds 1987 deze begeerde vlaggen uit aan de stranden die aan de strenge eisen voldoen. De FEE heeft wereldwijd ongeveer 3200 stranden en jachthavens bekroond met een blauwe vlag. In Spanje zijn er in 2009 maar liefst 571 stranden en havens bekroond met een blauwe vlag.

In de regio Santa Pola, Gran Alacant, El Altet en Arenales del Sol zijn de volgende stranden in het bezit van een blauwe vlag: Las Calas del Este, La Playa del Varadero, Playa Levante, Playa Tamarit, Playa El Altet, Playa la Marina en playa Pesqueres-el Rebollo. De club Nautico van Santa Pola heeft tevens een blauwe vlag en het natuurgebied el Clot de Galvani met het Carabasi strand (tussen Gran Alacant en Arenales del Sol) is ook al enige jaren in het bezit van de blauwe vlag.

De blauwe vlag is een kwaliteitskeurmerk en dient ieder jaar waargemaakt te worden door de beheerder van het strand.

Trike in the air

DoYouWanna & Adaptamos Group have organized free paragliding flights adapted for people with disabilities.

The coming 13 and 14 of June this event is celebrated at the Cape of Santa Pola Gran Alacant, Alicante. Already nearly 100 people have registered for the event this year. It is a special event to be held and we encourage everyone to come and see and give support to the participants in the paragliding event on the Cabo de Santa Pola in Gran Alacant.

The event is to improve access for people with any disability to sport, leisure and to be in a community sharing a passion for paragliding flight and to give reality to the dreams of many to be able to fly.

The gliders are adapted to seat 2 people and are always accompanied by professional pilots.

World championship windsurf Santa Pola

Santa Pola has been chosen as the destination for the celebration of the sporting world’s largest in the category Windsurf. It will be the capital of the World Championship Formula Windsurfing.

The tournament will take place in the Bay of Santa Pola, only 15 kilometres from Alicante, on days 13 to 19 September 2009.

Participants from around the world, from the five continents will gather for the occasion. We will have the opportunity to delight in watching athletes of the caliber of Fernando Martínez del Cerro and Pablo Ania Borrachina representing Spain and other countries send participators as Michael Polanowski , Ross Williams, Gonzalo Costa Hoevel or Steve Allen and many more.

The mascot and logo were created for the international image of this tournament is called the Wind, is nice, sporty and with a fresh and adventurous touch.

Van 15 februari tot 1 maart 2009

Carnaval in Alicante!
Iedereen is welkom om het carnaval in Alicante te komen vieren. Het leukste is om verkleed te gaan maar in Alicante vindt je ook veel feestvierders die niet verkleed zijn. Wij van ByTheSea raden echter aan om wel verkleed te gaan. Wij gaan altijd eerst eten bij de Mexicaan Cactus Cantina in de binnenstad. Daar kan je heel lekker eten en zit je tijdens carnaval gezellig tussen de heksen, tovenaars en andere uitdossingen te eten.
Het meest bezochte is het weekend van de carnval 20, 21 & 22 februari, waarvan de zaterdag één groot feest in de binnenstad van Alicante is.

Vrijdag 20/02/09 is de officiele openings dag, in het Spaans PREGÓN DE LAS FIESTAS - officiele openings speech. De burgemeester van Alicante zal om 21.30h op de Plaza Castellón het carnaval 2009 officieel openen.

Zaterdag 21/02/09 is beste dag que feest voor iedereen die van (carnavals) feesten houdt! Het is de Sábado ramblero. Ramblero komt van de Rambla de Alicante.
GEdurende de dag zijn er diverse feesten voor kinderen en gedurende de avond en nacht zijn er diverse feesten en optredens in de straten rondom de Rambla van Alicante. Alicante is deze nacht helemala voor het carnaval met muziek en de hele nacht feesten op straat en in de café´s.
