The residents of the different streets of Valencia are united in the so-called Casale Falleros, which are partnerships that are seeking sponsors throughout the year to cover the cost of both the decorated streets as the construction of the “Ninots”. The Sponsors are company and also the neighbours that are united in the groups.
The groups don´t have an economical objective but their aim is to win the price and recognition of the best decorated street or most important “Ninots” or “Falla” of the festival.
Apart from the Masclet´s that are held from the begining of March during the day, during the evenings on the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th of March impressive fireworks are held in the night. The spectators will be bewitched by the magic of colors and shapes that are cause by the fireworks in the dark of night. Each night a different fireworks company will entertain the spectators.
On the 17th and 18th of March are the most emotional moments of the festival, however the festival is in the honour of San Jose, on these days the Falleros pay their respect to “La Virgen Desamparados”. This is celebrated in a square where a big statue is erected in the honour of the virgin. This cloak of the statue will be filled with bouquets of red, white and pink carnations that are brought by the Falleros showing their respect, admiration and gratitude to “La Virgen Desamparados”.
